The tech community has seen an uptick in developer tools to help software engineers build artificial intelligence. However, successful tools — especially in a space as complex as AI — will cater to a range of mental models and industries. This talk will describe how Bonsai’s UX team conducted user research to learn about different types of developers and translated our findings to design an AI development platform.
Attendees will learn about the different types of developers we identified through our research and how to design for them. We will cover in detail the user research methods we used, including the importance of usability testing both interfaces and code. We will also focus on some of the challenges unique to designing for the AI space, such as how to visualize machine learning and how to communicate abstract concepts through data visualization.
