Look Ma! No Screens! Conducting UX research on non-visual user experiences.

Oftentimes, UX professions find themselves designing and testing user experiences that are primarily visual in nature; e.g. websites and mobile apps.

Increasingly, user experiences are becoming more multimodal. From the increasing sophistication of IVR phone systems to the recent introduction of Amazon’s Alexa to the marketplace, aural and speech-based experiences are becoming more ubiquitous.

Our UX research team has recently tested several new user experiences that are exclusively auditory. During this presentation, we will share our methodologies and discuss best practices for user experience research in this design space.
