New Mobile App Heuristics: guidelines to quickly boost the user satisfaction of your app by 50%

New Mobile App Heuristics: guidelines to quickly boost the user satisfaction of your app by 50%

With mobile now outstripping PCs in uptake, screen time and usage, it’s time for the 20-year-old Nielsen usability heuristics to get a mobile refresh. Combining concepts from the original Nielsen heuristics with research and observations from developing mobile UI for more than 250 applications ranging from fintech to edtech to gaming to government, these mobile heuristics offer guidelines for creating applications that delight users, increasing usability and user satisfaction.

At this session we’ll not only be sharing the new mobile heuristics with attendees, but also how principles from psychology, behavioural economics, and user research methods were used to develop them. Attendees will leave the presentation considering new angles and lenses through which to view how people use their designs for maximum usability and satisfaction. The list of heuristics will be available to all, and we’ll describe how to use them in daily UX work.
