Wearable Out of Box Experiences

Digital products, such as wearables, are increasingly being delivered in packaging. Traditionally packaging design has been done by marketing agencies or manufacturing groups. However, device usability and UX actually begins with the package but most UX designers are intimidated by the idea of designing a box. This talk explores techniques for out of box experience design and how it relates to UX design techniques. A case study for the packaging design of a wearable will be presented.
