Karen Holtzblatt Karen Holtzblatt is CEO of InContext Design. a thought leader, author, and industry speaker. Karen was the first recipient of ACM SIGCHI’s Lifetime Award for Practice for her contribution to Human-Computer Interaction through the creation of the Contextual Design method taught and used worldwide. Karen launched The Women in Tech Project understanding the work experience of women in technology and why women leave the field. While at Stanford, she developed a framework defining factors influencing women’s satisfaction at work. Karen is currently expanding the research, validating a measure, and developing intervention techniques to help companies retain women.
